10 Easy 3D Model Files to Print this School Year
Integrating 3D printing into the classroom is no easy task. There are many important steps to learn - from 3D modeling to slicing and then actually printing.
When it comes to actually obtaining a 3D model to print there are a couple of different methods. The most common method is designing the print yourself. Most educators will opt to use software like Tinkercad or OnShape.
Designing your own file to print is a great way to teach students design thinking and computational thinking. However, this process can sometimes be time-consuming and may limit the type of objects you can print depending on your 3D modeling skill level.
Enter Thingiverse. Thingiverse is one of many open-source platforms educators can use to find more complex and detailed 3D models to print. Using a platform like this is a great way to print science models, historical artifacts, and other complicated models without having to actually design them yourself.
